Overview
Woolf has a flexible PTO policy, allowing employees and full-time team members to take time off at their choosing without having to count or accrue time-off hours.
We believe that time away from work is important and restorative for Woolf team members and leads to a better experience at Woolf. Therefore, every member of the Woolf team is encouraged to take at least 2 weeks each year at any time, for any reason.
PTO also covers illness, personal reasons, or appointments — these are flexible and should be scheduled so as to have as little impact on the team as possible.
National & Cultural Holidays
We encourage all Woolf team members to take time off to observe their respective national and cultural holidays.
Other Leave Policies
- If your requested time off exceeds 10 consecutive days, your PTO may be subject to a different leave policy (i.e., maternity/paternity, FMLA, Workers’ Comp). Check with your manager to discuss your options when requesting extended time off.
- See the HR: Leave of Absence Policy
General Guidelines
- Please try to be available during regular working hours and to avoid missing key company-wide and team meetings (all hands, customer calls, sprints). These meetings are crucial to keeping Woolf's distributed work environment running in a functional manner — schedule appointments around them whenever possible.
- Confirm PTO clearance with your manager for any event longer than 3 hours. Please ensure that partial PTO during your typical work hours does not coincide with busy times where you may need to be available to your teammates.
- For any event less than 3 hours, confirm with your manager by Slack or email, then put a block in your calendar so your teammates know.
- Be conscientious of whether your PTO will negatively impact teammates or your overall work — you are still responsible for hitting performance goals, especially in your first 90 days.
- Managers who are OOO on a Friday should either post their Slack Updates early or designate a DR to post on their behalf.
Process for requesting time off
- Request OOO days from your manager in advance to give everyone time to adjust. There is no guarantee for short notice requests.
