Context
- HR: Flexible PTO Policy
- Woolf employees may be eligible to take a paid or unpaid extended leave of absence if they meet the criteria for eligibility determined by their home country and state.
Probationary Period
- The probationary period for new employees is 90 days, starting from the first day of employment. During this time, a new employee is expected to demonstrate their suitability for their position.
- Following a probationary period and an additional 90 days (180 days from employment), Woolf employees are eligible for extended paid leave for situations that require long-term absence for qualified reasons (i.e., anything over 10 days, per the HR: Flexible PTO Policy)
- Woolf reserves the right to extend the probationary period if deemed necessary, based on an employee's performance and adherence to company policies.
Maternity Leave Policy
- Woolf employees past their probationary period can take paid 12 weeks as a maternity leave (including adoption).
- Woolf is a small start up, the organization’s roles are changing rapidly, and it operates in a fast-moving space. It is our goal to provide the same role and compensation upon return to work after the paid 12 weeks of Woolf Maternity Leave. Additional leave is unpaid by Woolf (though it may be paid by your local government), and additional leave may make it more challenging to return to the same role/comp, though it has been Woolf’s effort to support a return on the same/similar terms.
- US employees may be eligible for other forms of short- or long-term leave or leave support, subject to FMLA law and your state. Whether the leave period is paid or unpaid depends on state laws in an employee’s respective home country and state.
- Notwithstanding the above, Woolf will comply with all applicable US state and US federal laws regarding US employee leave.
